About Spring Workshops
Who are workshops for?
DMLA’s Spring Workshops are designed for students who want to become a student leader (drum major, section leader, band captain, or other), and for returning student leaders looking to level up their skills.
What do workshops teach?
Workshops give you the tools you need to nail your audition and have a successful marching season as a leader! Students learn how to conduct various patterns, the foundations of leadership, how to excel in your interview, and much more!
Do I need to be a drum major to attend?
No, but current drum majors are welcome too! Sessions throughout the day are delivered in both full and small group formats, allowing students to choose a path best suited to their unique interests, experiences, and needs!
Who teaches the workshops?
Regional workshops are taught by instructors from your area while national workshops are taught by instructors from across the country!

What if I am not available the day a workshop takes place?
You are in luck! If you are not available for a workshop, or a workshop is not offered in your area, we have several immersive national workshops that teach the same lessons in a virtual format! We have developed an inspiring curriculum and fully immersive experience dedicated specifically to virtual students!
