Nico Johnson is one of the Band Directors for the Fishers High School Band, located in the suburbs of Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a clarinet player, woodwind specialist, and performer. He is originally from Mason, Ohio, where he began his passion for music. During his time in the Mason area, Nico was a member of the Mason Band program during middle school and high school. He was a member of the marching band, concert band, and was drum major for his junior and senior years. After high school, he studied Instrumental Music Education at Miami University (OH), located in Oxford, Ohio. During this time, he worked as a music and visual tech for the Beavercreek and Mason High School Marching Bands. Nico is a strong advocate for diversity & inclusion and advocacy in music education.
Nico Is excited to join the DMLA team. He is passionate about music education, working with others, and being a mentor for those involved in the marching arts. As an instructor, he hopes to share his knowledge, experiences, and strong set of skills to help other programs and leadership teams across the country. He is very excited to collaborate with other band programs to reach their goals and be alongside them in their journey to develop student leadership.
