Joseph is a student at the University of Illinois studying electrical engineering with a minor in music. Joseph served as the front field conductor with the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps for their 2019 season alongside DMLA Instructor, Drum Major Savannah Light. Joseph previously played mellophone for the Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps in 2017 and served as Drum Major for the Thomas Jefferson Marching Colonials for two consecutive seasons. He served as trumpet section leader for the Nation’s Premier College Marching Band, the University of Illinois Marching Illini and also proudly represents the Performing Arts Initiative for Students of Color (PAISOC) as a Leadership Ambassador. Additionally, Joseph passionately works as a member of the IMPACT staff team at the George N. Parks Drum Major Academy. He promotes the importance and significance of leadership development, one of the most vital parts of youth and music education. He believes that servant leadership is crucial to developing successful ensembles as well as successful individuals. Joseph is incredibly excited to serve as an instructor with the Drum Major Leadership Academy and can’t wait to continue helping elevate others through his experience, knowledge, and passion!
