Aidan Purcell is currently a senior at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign studying music education and a minor in business. While at Illinois, he has been highly involved in the many concert and athletic bands serving a year as clarinet section leader in the Nation’s Premiere College Marching Band, the University of Illinois Marching Illini. Aidan attended Downers Grove North High School in Downers Grove, IL and was a two year drum major of the 200 member strong Trojan Marching Band. Over this past summer, he served as a conductor for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps in their highest scoring production to date, Of War and Peace. In addition to conducting, Aidan has spent time teaching both clarinet privately and as a drum major, music, and visual technician at Westmont High School. Aidan is very excited to be joining the DMLA team as an instructor and can’t wait to get to work teaching conducting, and leadership this year! He believes that everyone has the potential to lead, and paired with the right experiences and a positive attitude, the potential is limitless!
